About East Athenaeum

All external links provided are credible and safe, even the rare few that might warn they're not (https). The 'Random' button on the bottom of the front page can lead to anywhere, so just be open to exploring whatever kinds of weird stuff before venturing off.

The site serves as a simple information and resource tool, meant to be educational for subjects about which we are passionate. It is not associated with any established university or library that holds the word athenaeum in the title. We are proud to work together, both our names are aliases, and we choose to remain anonymous.

The color theme and background image are based on the Butters profile picture Bill uses on all his public accounts. It remains implemented throughout the site for its nice medium between light and dark modes. The picture itself has been removed here because we have become more conscientious about copyright laws as we have developed newer content.

East Athenaeum orignally went online Feb. 1, 2023 as a subdomain, was built from the ground up, and is hand coded in html with some minimal copy-paste JavaScript for necessary functionality. It is a continual work in progress that we attend to almost every day, even if with just minor edits we don't consider updates. We usually edit every day, but current responsibilities are demanding of our time. We still have some unfinished pages (indicated with 🔧), and we will add to them as ideas and information come to us.

You may reuse, remix, or adapt our work, provided that you link to us and do not use our work for commercial gain or profit. All information everywhere should be available to everyone without cost, so long as it isn't personal. We value the creativity, research, and transparency of the organizations we reference, and we only ask for the same consideration and acknowledgement.
